Terms of using Blackjack Trainer

These Terms of Service govern your use of Blackjack Trainer, the website and installable app at blackjacktrainer.fyi. By using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

These terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what data the app collects and how it is used.

Blackjack Trainer is an educational practice tool for learning blackjack basic strategy, card counting, and index deviations. All play is simulated. There is no real-money wagering, no purchase of chips or credits, no cash-out, and no prizes of monetary value.

Bankrolls, scores, streaks, crowns, and leaderboard placements are practice metrics only. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for anything.

Nothing in the app can be bought that affects play. There is no way to purchase chips, credits, bankroll, extra hands, additional attempts, continues, or any other advantage or extension of play, and no purchase changes the rules, the odds, the cards dealt, your grading, or your leaderboard eligibility. The only thing money buys here is the optional Supporter tier, which unlocks appearance-only extras. Simulated bankroll is always free, always resets, and can never be topped up for money.

The app does not provide gambling, betting, financial, investment, legal, or other professional advice. Simulated results do not predict or guarantee outcomes in a real casino. You are responsible for knowing and following the laws that apply where you live.

The app is intended for adults. Do not use it if you are under the age of majority where you live, and do not use it if you are under 13 in any case.

You can use the core trainer without an account. Signing in with Google is optional and enables cloud sync across devices and a custom leaderboard display name.

You are responsible for activity that happens under your account and for keeping access to your Google sign-in secure. Do not share your account or use someone else's.

Display names are public on leaderboards. Choose a name you are comfortable showing publicly. We may rename or remove display names that impersonate others, contain slurs or harassment, are deceptive, or are otherwise inappropriate for a public board.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. If you have an active Supporter subscription, deleting your account cancels it for you — billing stops, and you keep your Supporter extras for the period you already paid for. If we can't confirm the cancellation went through, we deliberately do not delete the account, so that you are never left subscribed to an account you can no longer sign into; you'll be told to cancel from Settings and try again.

Use Blackjack Trainer for personal, non-commercial practice. Please do not do any of the following:

Interfere with or disrupt the app, its servers, or other people's use of it, including through automated request floods, denial-of-service attempts, or attempts to bypass rate limits.

Probe, scan, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the app, its APIs, its storage, or other users' accounts and data.

Scrape or bulk-collect app content or leaderboard data, or resell, sublicense, or redistribute the app or its content as your own.

Reverse engineer the app except to the extent that restriction is unenforceable under applicable law.

Submit unlawful, infringing, harassing, or deliberately misleading content through display names, feedback, or any other input.

Leaderboards, the Daily Challenge, and the Weekly Ranked Challenge are shared competitive surfaces. Submit only scores produced by genuinely playing the app in a normal browser session.

Do not automate play, script or replay submissions, tamper with locally stored progress, forge or manipulate submitted scores, or use multiple identities to gain placement. The Daily Challenge is deliberately one attempt per day per player.

We may verify, correct, withhold, or remove any score or record, and may reset a board or restrict access, where we reasonably believe these terms were broken or a result is not genuine. Where a result is removed we aim to be accurate rather than punitive, but placement in a free practice leaderboard is not something we can guarantee.

Leaderboard availability may be interrupted, and boards may be reset, restructured, or retired as the app changes.

The full trainer is free. Supporter is an entirely optional subscription that unlocks cosmetic-only extras: table themes, card backs and faces, and a leaderboard name accent. It does not change gameplay, rules, odds, grading, drills, or leaderboard eligibility, and it confers no competitive advantage.

Supporter is offered at $3/month or $30/year in US dollars, as shown at checkout. The price displayed at the time you subscribe is the price that applies to your subscription.

Payments are processed by Stripe. You enter card details on Stripe's checkout, not on our servers, and Stripe's own terms and privacy policy apply to that processing. We store only your subscription status, start date, cosmetic preferences, and a Stripe reference used to keep your perks in sync.

Supporter is an automatically renewing subscription. When you subscribe you are enrolled in recurring billing: the monthly plan charges $3/month every month, and the annual plan charges $30/year every year, each on the anniversary of the day you subscribed. It renews at that same price for the same period, automatically, with no further action by you, and it keeps renewing until you cancel it. Taxes may be added where required.

You can cancel at any time, and cancelling takes effect without needing to contact us: open Settings, choose to manage your subscription, and cancel in the Stripe customer portal that opens. Cancellation stops all future charges. There is no cancellation fee and no minimum term.

If a payment fails or a subscription lapses, Supporter cosmetics pause and the app reverts to its free state. Your training data, records, and leaderboard history are never affected by Supporter status.

We may change Supporter pricing or what it includes. Changes apply to future billing periods, not retroactively, and we will not increase the price of an active subscription without notice and a chance to cancel first.

You can cancel at any time from Settings, which opens the Stripe customer portal. Cancelling stops future billing immediately; your Supporter cosmetics remain active through the end of the period you have already paid for, then pause.

Because Supporter is a cosmetic-only subscription to a service that is otherwise free, payments are generally non-refundable except where a refund is required by law.

That said, we would rather you be happy than hold three dollars. If you were charged in error, charged after cancelling, subscribed by accident, or are simply unhappy with what Supporter turned out to be, email us within 30 days of the charge and we will refund it. Refunds are issued to the original payment method through Stripe.

Nothing in this section limits any statutory refund or cancellation rights you have where you live.

Blackjack Trainer is offered as-is and as-available. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service, and there is no uptime commitment. Maintenance, outages, provider incidents, and bugs happen.

We may add, change, suspend, or remove features at any time, including leaderboards, challenges, drills, and Supporter cosmetics. We aim to avoid destroying training history, but you should not rely on the app as the only copy of anything that matters to you.

Cloud sync is a convenience, not a backup service. Local data lives in your browser's storage and can be cleared by you, by your browser, or by your device at any time.

The app, its interface, its strategy engine and generated tables, its written content, and its branding are owned by Blackjack Trainer and protected by copyright and other laws. These terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own practice — not any ownership.

Basic strategy and index numbers are mathematical facts and are not claimed as proprietary. The specific presentation, wording, engine, and code here are.

The optional “Classic” card-face cosmetic uses Vector Playing Cards 3.2 by Chris Aguilar, licensed under the GNU LGPL 3.0; the full license and attribution are published in the Privacy Policy's attributions section and bundled with the app.

Feedback you send us is appreciated and may be used to improve the app without obligation or compensation. Do not send us confidential information.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Blackjack Trainer is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the app's strategy output, index numbers, expected-value figures, risk-of-ruin estimates, or simulations are free of error, nor that they will produce any particular result in real play. Verify anything you intend to rely on.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here waives or limits any rights you have under the Washington Consumer Protection Act.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Blackjack Trainer and anyone working on it will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or gambling losses, arising from or related to your use of the app.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, total liability for all claims relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty-five US dollars.

This section does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, or personal injury caused by negligence — and it does not waive or limit any claim or remedy available to you under the Washington Consumer Protection Act.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. If any part of this section is unenforceable, the rest still applies.

You may stop using the app at any time and delete your account from Settings.

We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are broken, if it is necessary to protect the app or its users, or if we discontinue the service. Where a suspension affects a paid Supporter subscription and the cause was not a breach by you, we will refund the unused portion of the current period.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination — intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and any governing-law terms — survive it.

We may update these terms as the app evolves. The “last updated” date below always reflects the current version, and material changes will be reflected on this page.

Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree to a change, stop using the app and cancel any active Supporter subscription.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

Disputes relating to these terms or the app will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Washington, and you and Blackjack Trainer consent to their jurisdiction — except that either of us may bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court.

Nothing in these terms waives or limits any rights you have under the Washington Consumer Protection Act, and nothing here removes any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of the place you live. Where a term above conflicts with a right you cannot waive, that right wins and the rest of these terms still apply.
