How it works

Three steps to sharper play.

Set your house rules

Decks, H17/S17, DAS, surrender, resplit aces, 3:2 or 6:5 — match the exact table you want to beat.

Play real hands

Deal, bet, split, double, and surrender at a realistic shoe. Every action is graded against the exact chart and deviation rules for that table.

Level up the count

Turn on the Hi-Lo HUD or the count quiz, enable Illustrious 18 deviations, and track your accuracy over time.

See it in action

Everything you need on one felt.

Live charts, a mistakes log that explains every missed play, real card counting, streak milestones, count quizzes, and a weak-spot drill — all inside the same table. Just want to play? It's a free blackjack game first — the coaching only switches on when you ask for it.

Accuracy summary bar showing hard 91%, soft 89%, pairs 86%, and deviations 50% at a glance.

One glance tells you where you stand across hard totals, soft totals, pairs, and count-based deviations — while the Records view breaks down how you perform by true-count bucket.

Every mistake, explained

Each misplayed hand gets a short, plain-English reason — so you stop guessing and start knowing why the right play is right.

Practice · Drill Library
Drill Library hub: a personalized weak-spots rotation plus curated packs grouped beginner to expert — stiffs, soft hands, pair splitting, doubles, surrenders, and the Illustrious 18.

Drill Library — target exactly what you miss

Open the Drill Library for a rotation of the spots you miss most, plus curated packs from beginner to expert. Clear a spot and it retires for good — every set deals hands you haven't beaten yet, and each pack shows what's left.

Discard tray on the felt with a stack of played cards growing inside, used to estimate decks remaining alongside live running-count and true-count readouts.

Count cards like you're at a real table

Live running count and true count read out beside the shoe, and deviations kick in when the count calls for them. The discard tray fills with every played card so you can eyeball decks remaining by sight — the same skill a real table demands.

Celebration banner that fires when you beat your all-time perfect-play streak record.

Streaks, milestones & records

Flawless-play streaks climb with every correct decision, hit milestone tiers, and celebrate when you break your all-time best.

Between-hands count quiz asking for the current true count, with three multiple-choice answer buttons.

Count quizzes, between hands

Running count, true count, or decks remaining — the game quizzes you on the fly so the count sticks while you're actually playing.

An interactive strategy reference

Learn includes every perfect blackjack basic strategy chart for 1D, 2D, and shoe games across H17/S17 rules, plus rule-aware Hi-Lo deviation charts — move the true count to see which plays turn on before you commit them to memory. Alongside it, the blackjack deviation chart lays out the Illustrious 18 and Fab 4 in profitability order, and the blackjack EV heatmap shows the dollars won or lost per hand against every dealer upcard.

Learn · Perfect Strategy
Learn page showing rule-aware perfect strategy charts, TC preview, and highlighted active Hi-Lo deviations.
Learn · Add index plays
The Custom plays editor: five added count deviations — soft doubles, pair splits, and surrenders — each with a colored action chip and an engine-optimal verdict, above a builder composing a new play in plain language while the exact-EV engine confirms it matches the best line.

Add your own index plays

The published Illustrious 18 and Fab 4 stay exactly as they are — a standard you can trust. Sign in and you can add your own index plays for hands the book skips, or override one you disagree with, and the exact-EV engine prices each as you go. Yours are graded in the trainer, charts, and drills.

Bankroll Lab — is this game worth playing?

Punch in your rules, bankroll, and spread and Bankroll Lab returns EV per hour, risk of ruin, hours to N0, and a realistic session range — calibrated from up to 100 million simulated rounds. A one-line verdict says whether the setup clears your risk target or needs a bigger bankroll.

Track real sessions against the forecast

Practice the Lab setup in the trainer and every round records against the forecast live. Actual net tracks expected inside a ±1 SD band, with luck delta and z-score updating hand by hand — so you know whether a cold run is variance or a spread that doesn't work.

FAQ

Common questions.

Everything below is answered in a sentence or two.

Getting started

Is the blackjack trainer really free?
Yes, and there are no ads. The trainer, every chart, counting practice, the drill library, and both challenges are free — no account needed. An optional $3/month Supporter tier adds cosmetics and a few advanced tools, which are free for everyone while they're in preview.
Does it work on mobile?
It's built mobile-first: a drag-to-dismiss bottom sheet, large count chips, and an optional reverse action bar for thumb reach. Install it to your home screen and it runs full-screen and offline. Desktop has more room for the charts, but nothing is missing on a phone.
Can I sync my progress across devices?
Sign in with Google and your history, bankroll, settings, and leaderboard name follow you everywhere. It's optional — anonymous play works exactly the same.

What you'll practice

Does it include every basic strategy chart?
Yes — single-deck, double-deck, and shoe games in both H17 and S17. Every cell is generated by the same engine that grades your play, so the chart and your feedback can never disagree.
Can I customize house rules?
Decks, dealer soft 17, double after split, late or early surrender, resplit and hit split aces, 3:2 or 6:5 payout, penetration, and table limits. Change any of them and the charts, grading, and house edge update to match.
Which card counting system does it teach?
Hi-Lo, the most popular balanced system. The trainer tracks both running and true count, and can quiz you on either one — or on decks remaining.
How can I practice deviations?
Turn on deviation practice and pick exactly which index plays are live, so you can learn a few at a time. Memorize mode always deals hands where the deviation applies; Test mode mixes in counts where basic strategy is still right, so you also learn when not to deviate.
Which deviations are worth learning first?
The Illustrious 18, in order — the first few carry most of the money. After you play, the per-index report card grades each deviation you used and prices every miss in dollars, so you can see where the next hour of study pays.

Drills and table realism

What is the weak-spot drill?
It watches your mistake history and keeps dealing the cells you miss most — hard totals, soft hands, pairs, surrenders, and deviations if you use them. It anchors the Drill Library, where curated packs run from beginner to expert: clear a spot three times in a row and it retires for good, so every set brings hands you haven't mastered yet. Custom drills, where you choose the spots yourself, are free during their Supporter preview.
Can I practice at a full table with other players?
Casino Realism seats up to three AI players who draw from your shoe, so every card they take moves your count. It also brings a decision clock at real table pace, a heat meter that reads how obvious your betting looks, and back-counting from the rail. Free during its Supporter preview.
Can I add my own index plays?
The published Illustrious 18 and Fab 4 stay fixed so there's a standard to rely on, but you can add plays for hands the book skips, or override a published index — the chart marks anything you've changed. The engine prices each play as you add it and grades it in the trainer, charts, and drills. Free during its Supporter preview.

Knowing your game

Can it show how the count affects bet sizing?
Auto bet spread turns the live true count into your wager each round. Watching hot counts press the bet while cold shoes stay small is the fastest way to feel why disciplined counting pays.
What is the expected-value (EV) heatmap?
A chart of what every starting hand is worth against each dealer upcard — the dollars you win or lose per $100 bet playing it perfectly. It's computed exactly rather than simulated, for your rules and true count, and a live version in the trainer shows the EV of hit, stand, double, and split while you decide.
What is Bankroll Lab?
Enter your rules, bankroll, and bet spread and it forecasts whether the game is worth playing: EV per hour, risk of ruin, N0, and a realistic session range. Play that setup in the trainer and the Lab tracks your real results against the forecast, so you can tell ordinary variance from a spread that's actually wrong.

Competing

What is the Daily Challenge?
One shoe a day, dealt identically to everyone — 15 hands, one attempt, $2,500 to start. Same cards for every player means it comes down purely to decisions. Finish highest to take the day's crown and keep your streak alive.
What is the Ranked Challenge?
A week-long competition at one casino's rules, with the same $100,000 bankroll for everyone. No count display, no hints, no feedback — just your decisions. Biggest bankroll wins, and when the week closes you can review and practice the hands you played worst.
Is there a leaderboard?
A global Top 50 ranked by perfect-play streak and accuracy. You start with an auto-generated name; sign in to choose your own. Your rank stays pinned at the top, so you can always tap it to jump to your row.

Supporting the site

What does the Supporter tier include?
Cosmetics — premium table themes, card backs, an illustrated Classic card face, and a tinted leaderboard name — plus the tools now marked Supporter preview, once their preview ends. It's $3/month or $30/year, cancel anytime, and it never changes the rules, the odds, or your grading.
